We are open 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday, and Thursday 11.30am - 4.30pm

You can make an appointment to see a member of our team outside our normal opening hours at a time and venue to suit your needs. Or speak to an advisor for an appointment at your local customer service centre.

About Us

Newcastle Families Information Service is a free service for all families, which provides impartial information, advice and assistance.

We provide services including:

• Finding and choosing childcare
• Childcare and activity brokerage - working with you and providers to arrange a package of provision, which meets your needs and the needs of your children.
• Childcare finance, checking whether you have taken up all possible entitlements, including free early education
• Schools choice and admissions advice
• Advice on working or training in childcare and becoming a registered childminder
• Holiday activity information packs

We also provide information about:

• Things to do and places to go, including sports, play, youth clubs and leisure
• Support, activities and services for children with disabilities and their families
• Parenting and family support services
• Sure Start Children's Centres
• Clubs and organisations for parents, carers and young people
• Training and learning opportunities
• Volunteering and community organisations
• Health services
• Advice and counselling services.
